A Package For John

My supervisor at work organized a project to ship Johnathan a Christmas package while he is deployed this year since he wouldn't be able to be home for the holidays. She simply let all of my co-workers and the Judges know that she intended to send a package and invited whoever wanted to include something for him, to do so. You would not believe the amount of things that everyone came up with. I was quite impressed that this was done for John and am grateful to my co-workers for their thoughtfulness and generosity. I won't name names, because they won't want the credit for it to be published, but when this was first began, one of my former "co-workers" and his wife decided to put together their own package and actually ended up in sending 3 boxes of goodies to John on their own. I have spoken to John since he received this package and those other 3 and he was pretty touched that he was thought of in this way and expressed his gratefulness for it and simply said that we are all the reason he does his job.

Here's one group of my co-workers with the box --
l-r, Colleen, Melissa, JoAnn, Luanne, Barbara, Liz, Lori, Dianna, Laura and Rose
And, more co=workers -- Melissa, Barbara, Liz, Lori, Yolanda, Annette and Tina
Because of work committments, we weren't able to get everyone in a picture, but there were more participants than is shown in these two pictures.
My supervisor, Barbara, closes up the box to get it ready to ship. Barbara had two brothers serve in Viet Nam and lost a brother-in-law in that war, so she was quite aware of what this package from home would mean to Johnathan.
