Losing DC

DC was our wonderful family pet for about 14 years ! He was given to Lee and John by some old friends, the Jones'. He was absolutely the greatest cat, and I have to add this special post about him. Everyone loved DC and he pretty much was the head of the house. All of our friends came to know that if they came over to visit, they would plan to have him on their laps - he felt like if someone was sitting down that meant he had a nice comfy lap to curl up on. We lost DC in Nov when he had to be put to sleep - his body was shutting down and it was his time to go. This is the last picture of him. That was a pretty sad day for me. I was home alone - and was the one to take him in and held him close until he was gone. Before doing that, I called Milt in Texas and let him know, called Lee and talked to him about it, and then sent John a message - as he was away on deployment. I didn't want to take him in until I had talked to the guys about it. We are all going to miss DC as we all loved him very much. It is pretty quiet at the house without DC - he was quite the talker !
DC was never really comfortable when the grandpuppies came to visit, but on their last visit together, he was just beginning to warm up to Tyke and Bullett --- a little bit!

PR misses his little buddy. They loved to cuddle together.
