Front Door Welcome

I made this wreath for our front door a while back - Grandma helped me with this when she was here in June. Don't you just love all the bright colors! This was so simple to do - and really very inexpensive if you are a sewer and have scrap fabrics left over from previous projects. I used a wire wreath frame I picked up at Michael's craft store - using one of their 40% off coupons !! Then you just rip fabric into various width strips and tie them onto the frame.I even used some strips of satin and grosgrain ribbons..it takes lots of strips and just tie them on in random order - no thinking involved in any pattern. (although, I guess you could use a certain color scheme for the different holidays...maybe reds and greens for Christmas) I found the cute little welcome plaque at Jo Ann's craft store and luckily it was at the end of their spring season and I got it at a discount too ! So, all in all, I think I probably spent maybe $6 on this project for the front door. I love the look of it against the white front door and I think it is a cheerful little welcome to anyone who happens by.
