Quilting

In between all this wedding prep, I've been working on a new quilt for my bedroom. I'm coming along pretty well on it. I have the quilt finished, the bed skirt is already on the bed, 2 new matching/coordinating pillow cases are done and I just have to quilt the 2 pillow shams to be finished. I also made a cute little accent pillow out of some of the left over material and I have two more accent pillows to cover. Once the room is complete, I'll get shots on here of it all finished. In the meantime, here's a quick peek. I don't know why these black spots are showing up on the fabric in the pictures, it is some sort of camera glich in uploading them... on the camera screen itself, the spots are not there !! Anyway, you see here the quilt (next to the pins and thread) and then the pillow sham top with the pillow case draped over it. I think all of the pieces have turned out really beautiful - I have to thank my sister, Kay, and niece, Kristi, for "shaming" me into making this set...when they were here for Lee and Amber's wedding 2 years ago, they asked me why I had beautiful quilts on all the beds in the house and why I had given away so many beautiful quilts and then I had a cheap old store bought quilt on my own bed !!! So, I figured it was time to get this done....

...more wedding prep

Haley, Liz and Tina came over one evening this week and we worked on boutineeres, corsages and the bouquets for Haley and Liz. The girls were so much fun and I think they did a wonderful job with the flowers. Haley had decided to use silk flowers so that she would be able to keep hers and she thought her friends would want to keep their corsages from the day. I won't post pictures of the actual finished work, I'll save that for the wedding day post, but here is a showing of what flowers Haley has selected. The finished pieces are just beautiful ! We worked on the flowers on Thursday night and then on Saturday, I rode down with Haley and Tina to Oakland to the Temple. While there, we scouted out some areas on the Temple grounds to take the wedding pictures. We watched some of the wedding parties there on the grounds taking their wedding shots and got some really good ideas for next weekend. Remember this shot of the water bottle on the hedge - the final shot is going to be absolutely beautiful....

The Bridal Shower

We gave Haley a bridal shower and had a really fun time. She is such an excited bride and had a great time getting together with some friends to celebrate. I used some of the wedding reception decorations for the tables and the food table....they are going to look so nice at the reception site next week (8-15-09). We played a couple of fun games and tried to ignore the fact that there was no air conditioning in the building !! Tina's sister Susan surprised Haley and showed up for the party. Here's just a couple of pictures of the evening. It's going to be fun to see which one of these other girls gets engaged next !
